Hello Steiner Stars Blue Team Parents,

Welcome to the 2017 Steiner Stars Blue swim team. We look forward to a fun and exciting season. I apologize in advance for this long email, but there is a great deal of information to share. Please take the time to read this email in its entirety.

Practice begins NEXT WEEK, May 1^st! That's 5 days from now.  Please see the Blue Team practice schedule below.

*** The Bella Mar Pool is currently being resurfaced and was vandalized in the process.We are in close contact with the HOA and they assure us the pool will be ready next week.If the season start is delayed, we will let you know as soon as possible. ***

During the school year, practice is held on Monday’s and Wednesday’s ONLY at Bella Mar Lap Pool.

Your child's age group is determined by your child’s age as of May 1^st.

Summer Practice will be held on Monday – Thursday afternoons ONLY at Bella Mar Lap Pool.

Please note the following …

• Carpool when possible. Sports team practices still utilize the fields. The parking lot can get very full and hectic.
• Apply sunscreen prior to arriving at practice and remember to bring your goggles, fins and a towel.
• For new swimmers, write the first name of the swimmer on the swimmer's upper arm (right or left) with Sharpie, so coaches can learn their names.

• Do NOT prop open the gates. This is an HOA safety concern. If you see a gate is propped open, please close it. If you see a swimmer needs to be let in, please do so. Remember your pool fob. NOTE: your pool fob does not work on the pavilion gate. It only works on the gates by the basketball court and community room entrance.
• Do NOT go on the pool deck. Only coaches, swimmers, Stars Board members and approved parents are allowed on the pool deck. If you have a new or younger swimmer, please discuss this with your child prior to the first day of practice.
• Help clean up around Bella Mar. Please rearrange tables/chairs when you leave.Let's be good neighbors!

  Following the above items ensures the Steiner Stars remain in good standing with the HOA.

• Report your meet absences NOW. Don't wait to do this. Last minute changes make planning and organization of the meet and events very difficult. https://steinerred.swimtopia.com/report-an-absence
• Kick-Off Party THIS SUNDAY, April 30th: D&J Sports will be there selling team suits. Pick up the latest Stars Apparel from our apparel team and don’t forget to pick up your free t-shirt from the sponsor team. Come have fun with the DJ, Bouncy House/Slide, Bungee Run & More! Roppolo's Pizzeria (Cash and Credit Cards) & Menchie's (CASH ONLY) will be there serving food options ranging from $5 - $10.***To help us get a number for our food vendors, please RSVP by April 27th.
• Mark your calendars with our meet schedule. REMEMBER that the Star Wars meet (Blue vs Red) is on WEDNESDAY, JUNE 28TH where the entire Stars swim community is showcased in a galaxy far far away!

  
  Remember to check the Blue team website regularly. Meet and team information will be updated there. Refer to the website for practice schedules as well as other events. Check NOW that you are able to login. You will need to be able to log in to sign up for volunteer shifts. You can purchase team suits at the Kick-Off Party.We are using the same suit as last year. During the season, your team coordinator will send out regular emails with important information. Make sure you are receiving these emails.

  FAQ’s for new family members:

1. Can my child practice with the Red team due to his/her other sports? Unfortunately NO. This is a circuit rule with no exceptions.
2. Can my child swim up with another age group?For the month of May, please have your child swim in their appropriate age group.You child will be notified the last week of May if the coaches believe it is best for your child to swim up.
3. When do volunteer shifts become available? Communication from the volunteer coordinators will be disseminated before the first meet.You must meet your annual volunteer points to be exempt from new family registration next year.
