Albert's email about Pflugerville
StarsBLUE Parents,
We are on to our 2nd meet of the season! We swim against our friends, the Pflugerville Pirhanas and I know we will all be on our best behavior. With all of the rain, we have had to make adjustments on where we will pit and where we will park. Please read the attachment very carefully as we will need to all be flexible and car-pooling will also help alleviate some of the congestion (LMK if you need a pick-up at 5:10!). Many of you will need to drop off the kiddos and then park and walk. A shuttle may materialize but is not definite at this time.

IMPORTANT INFO:
Parking - Please review the parking and visitor attachment on where to park. We have access to several parking spots in front of the pool and those are available on a 1st come basis. After those fill, families will need to park at the school or church. Please drop off your swimmers 1st. Do not park at the Lion's Club, on Railroad Ave, and use caution when parking in the residential surface streets. Hopefully, a shuttle will be available but we will wait and see for now.
Tent Area - Our tents will be set up in the parking lot per the attachment.
Heat Sheets - Our heat sheets will be available to download from the website on Friday. Keep in mind that absences and last minute scratches often result in lane changes and heat combinations. Also, swimmers who do not show up result in relays being shuffled. Please try to be flexible as we try to get as many involved as possible.
Bad Weather Policy - Weather Delay/Cancellation Any sound of thunder related to lightning strikes shall act to delay a meet by 30 minutes. Any visible lightning strikes shall force both teams to seek immediate shelter. If the host pool facility cannot provide immediate shelter for a random lightning strike event, all teams shall seek immediate shelter in their vehicles. A visible lightning strike will delay a meet for one hour and may result in the cancellation of the meet. A decision to cancel a meet due to lightning is EXPECTED to come at the mutual agreement of the Home and Visiting Meet Director. All other inclement weather events shall delay or end a meet at the discretion of either Meet Director who may, in their personal judgment, determine that continuation of the meet is not practical. Under these circumstances, the Team Boards can decide to reschedule the meet or cancel the meet completely. The only exception to this rule shall be if the meet has reached the halfway point. If the halfway point of the meet (as determined by the completion of exactly half of the agreed-upon events, per the Meet Schedule and Deviations set prior to the start of the meet) has been reached, then the results up to that point (inclusive of the last fully-completed event) shall determine the final score of the meet.
Wi-Fi will be available thanks to the city of Pflugerville and much to the chagrin of all parents who think their kids are on their devices too much!
Swimmer sign-up is now open for Brushy Creek and will close at noon on Monday.
A special shout-out to this week's tent transport MVPs: Biff Farrell and Jim Lucas (a 2 time MVP) There are only 2 more away meets and opportunities to be a tent transport MVP!
Todd Ballengee will be on deck as Meet Director, so please reach out to him with any last minute absences or questions. [email protected]512.565.4115
